There are few places less forgiving than HÖR Berlin.
A tiny tiled room looking like a subway train station bathroom, a camera in your face and the decks, and thousands of people waiting to judge every move. So naturally, Claude VonStroke showed up and made it weird. Just like we love.
His latest HÖR set is a reminder of what makes Claude so good. He keeps things quirky and strange without ever losing the groove. The bass bumps, the drums swing, the rhythms stay loose, and all the weird little sounds somehow lock perfectly into place.
Thank God.
This is house music with personality. Instead of chasing the biggest possible drop, Claude lets the grooves breathe and gives the stranger elements room to shine. A warped vocal here, some ridiculous percussion there, and suddenly you’re three minutes deep into a groove you didn’t realize had completely sucked you in.
That’s the VonStroke magic.
He’s also clearly not interested in taking himself too seriously. The set is funky, playful and a little bit ridiculous in the best possible way. In a genre that can sometimes take itself painfully seriously, that’s refreshing.
And HÖR’s stripped-down setup suits him perfectly. No giant festival production. No lasers. No unnecessary nonsense. Just Claude, the music, and those unmistakable yellow tiles.
Claude VonStroke doesn’t reinvent house music here. He simply reminds us that house is supposed to be fun, weird, groovy and a little unpredictable.
